At Active Ants, you work in an international finance environment and support multiple entities operating in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. With your analyses and reports, you help management make the right decisions and contribute to the further professionalisation of our financial processes.

Your role

As a Financial Accountant, you are responsible for the complete general ledger administration and the timely and accurate completion of monthly and year-end closings. You review financial postings, process adjustments, and translate figures into clear reports and analyses for management. In addition, you actively contribute to the further professionalisation and digitalisation of financial processes. You support multiple entities within the organisation operating in different countries and ensure that all financial processes and reporting comply with applicable local laws and regulations.

Manage periodic closings and general ledger accounting
Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and analyses
Perform cost analyses, process accruals, journal entries, depreciation, and PPA
Prepare VAT returns and CBS (Statistics Netherlands) reports
Prepare and support audits and external accountant reviews
Contribute to process optimisation and automation
Support colleagues from other departments with financial analyses and advice, such as cost allocation, inventory valuation, and profitability insight

The Finance team at Active Ants consists of five experienced professionals, each with their own responsibilities. To further strengthen financial administration and reporting and support the organisation’s growth, we are looking for you as a Financial Accountant.

You will join a close-knit and professional team that works together informally and supports one another. The team consists of:

Financial Administrative Officer
Senior Commercial Business Controller
Team Lead Finance
Finance Manager
Finance & Control

Together, you ensure that the administration is always accurate, processes run efficiently, and management has access to reliable financial information. In your role, you make a direct contribution to the quality and continuity of the team and the organisation.

You are a precise and analytical Financial Accountant who takes responsibility for the numbers. You ensure everything is correct, process adjustments, and translate financial data into clear reports and analyses for management. You also identify areas for process improvement and actively contribute to optimising financial administration.

You bring:

Completed Bachelor’s degree in a financial field
At least 2–3 years of experience in a similar financial role
Experience with general ledger accounting, VAT, and audits
Strong communication skills in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
Experience with Oracle, Power BI, or other reporting tools is a plus
